From pixels to platform

Head of Engineering & Architecture at Paraty Tech. Twelve years in hospitality tech; I lead the engineering, architecture and cybersecurity teams.

I have spent twelve years at Paraty Tech, a hospitality technology company in Málaga, Spain. I joined as an intern in 2014, built hotel websites from 2015, led the front-end team from 2018 and, since 2024, I lead the engineering, architecture and cybersecurity teams. I report to the CTO and take part with him in the company’s technical decisions.

My work has three fronts. Security: secrets management, trusted networks, a machine-learning firewall, phishing and incident response, cloud and workplace audits, security questionnaires from large hotel chains and business continuity. Platform: a family of internal services on a shared library and a small set of backend, documentation and Git standards that I try to keep short and actually used. AI agents: a company MCP server, a toolkit of skills (reusable instructions), protocols and telemetry for coding agents.

And two teams: 1:1s, onboarding, goals and team KPIs. I am the last technical review for several teams, I set the engineering standards with them, and I am a regular technical point of contact for management, product and key accounts.

I would rather have something easy to run than something clever: one shared library and a few clear rules save more than ten projects that each do things differently. And I believe security is earned by making it easy, not by imposing it.

Outside work I maintain a non-commercial app for my family’s holiday apartments, look after a server with a couple of family businesses’ websites and occasionally build hardware: a physical panel for flight simulators. I live in Torremolinos, Málaga. Full career in the CV.
